Hardwood Lumber Species

Ash is a dense hardwood with open grain. It shows its light color in the sapwood gradually turning more tan in the heartwood. This wood accepts finishing stain very well.

The red tones of the medium density lumber get darker with age to give this species timeless qualities when used in flooring, furniture, and other quality craft items.

This hard lumber has a history of being used for wooden handles and levers. Using rustic grades in flooring or paneling  can add warm tones to any room with its knotty texture and light brown color.

Also known as Sugar maple, this is the preferred maple species for flooring and cabinets.

Also known as Red maple, this species typically grows faster than Hard maple lending itself to larger growth rings and darker color tendencies.
